Have you used Zoom?

Apparently, the demand for video-conferencing service Zoom has spiked due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Possibly, with lockdown implemented in various areas around the world, people who now work from home use Zoom to communicate with co-workers and clients through virtual meetings.

People also use it to connect with loved ones around the globe.

You can choose the free service or if you need it longer than 40 minutes, you can avail of the paid option.

And while the demand for Zoom has increased, the need to wear pants has significantly decreased.

People usually just dress up for the top part since that’s the area that can be seen on this service.

Reports say this can be distracting, and in some cases, they lose respect for their colleagues.

In consideration of the issue where more and more people forget to wear pants when going on their virtual meetings, Zoom added a new feature that will not let you connect and join a meeting if you’re not wearing a pair.

Look at the screenshot of a Zoom meeting below where an attendee named Ben is well… not wearing anything at all.

For everyone’s safety and sanity, since we’ve received a lot of complaints about colleagues and even bosses, who simply wear underpants when attending a virtual meeting, we are adding this new feature,” Eric Yuan, Zoom founder said.

Once you open Zoom, you need to pass a screen test to prove that you are wearing pants in order to connect to a meeting,” Yuan added.

Otherwise, you’ll be disconnected from the service.

Luckily, you can try to reconnect once you’ve worn your pants.

So, if you don’t want to be late for a meeting or don’t want to miss anything, make sure to wear pants all the time. “The service will disconnect if you try taking your pants off,” Yuan emphasized. Other video-conferencing services like Google Hangouts Meet and Microsoft Teams might follow Zoom’s initiative.

What do you think of this new Zoom feature? Have you tried it?
