(2-week-old baby tests positive for COVID-19)

Her mother, Joemelia Datayan, explained to GMA News that the family does not know how she was infected.

[She had a fever and diarrhea. The next day, I brought her to Fabella and they sent us home. They gave us medicine for the baby. After 5 days, the fever had not left and so I brought her back.]

[On April 2, she was given a swab test. She was moved to an isolation room. April 5, her results were released and she tested positive. That was when I got scared, because I thougt she might not be able to take it.]

With their baby testing positive, the whole household underwent a 14-day quarantine as possible COVID-19 cases. This was why they were not able to visit Baby Zafe while she was confined.

[It was hard for me. It was painful because I couldn’t see my baby. I didn’t know how she was doing or if her condition was still bad.]

While Baby Zafe will still be undergoing a 14-day home quarantine, Joemelia and the family are just happy to have her back.
