LiLou and her owner, Tatyana Danilova, are part of the airport’s ‘Wag Brigade’. This is a program that seeks to bring therapy animals to the airport in order to help ease travel anxieties and lift the moods of passengers. Aside from LiLou, it currently includes dogs of all breeds and sizes.

“People are very happy to get distracted from the travel, from their routines, whether they’re flying on their journey for vacation or work,” said Danilova. “Everybody is usually very happy and it makes them pause for a second and smile and be like, “Oh, it’s great.”‘

With a sharp pilot’s cap on and brightly painted toenails, it’s impossible not to be cheered up by LiLou’s presence. She even plays the (toy) piano using her hooves and snout!

“When we first launched the program, our main goal was to relieve stress for our passengers. However, what we have found is we have formed a connection with our passengers and it’s been totally amazing,” says guest services manager Jennifer Kazarian.
