Wanda Maximoff - MCU’s “WandaVision” is Getting an Earlier Release!

If you’re already craving for new content from the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU), we have great news for you: the series WandaVision is getting an earlier release, and will be available in 2020 instead of the originally planned 2021.

The news was announced through a reel Disney+ released, showcasing the lineup of films and TV shows slated to come out this year. One of the titles included is WandaVision, which will follow Wanda Maximoff/Scarlet Witch (Elizabeth Olsen) and Vision (Paul Bettany) right after the events of Avengers: Endgame. While Endgame is set in 2023, WandaVision will be set in the 1950s. We’re curious as to how Marvel will connect the timeline.

According to Elizabeth, “We’re gonna go deep, we’re gonna have lots of surprises, and we’re gonna finally understand Wanda Maximoff as the Scarlet Witch.” She added that the show is “gonna get weird.”

WandaVision will also see the MCU return of Kat Dennings and Randall Park, who played Darcy Lewis (Thor) and FBI agent Jimmy Woo (Ant-Man and the Wasp). It will also introduce Teyonah Parris as the adult version of Monica Rambeau, the daughter of Maria, Carol Danvers’ best friend in Captain Marvel.

Speaking of connections to the bigger MCU, Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige has said that “these episodes will intersect with the movies in a very big way.” Rumor has it that WandaVision will directly tie-in with the upcoming sequel of Doctor Strange.

There’s no word when the series will be released this year.
