According to data provided by the Bureau of Fire Protection, the majority of casualties during fire incidents are children and people with disabilities. They are the most vulnerable during hazardous emergencies. As a way to mitigate this, House of Berong was born!

House of Berong is an emergency preparedness learning venue for kids and is one of the first ever fire museums in the country! The establishment, created in the existing fire sub-station at the Tagaytay City Fire Station, was conceptualized to teach kids about emergency procedures and what firefighters do on the job.

At the museum, the children are able to undergo a bunch of different training stages with Berong Bumbero, the local firefighting icon.

The stages include “House Full of Hazards”, “Know Your Fireman”, “Basic First Aid”, “Emergency Procedure”, “Fire Safety in the Kitchen and Fire Extinguisher Usage”, and “Firetruck Ride and Operation”. From the stage titles themselves, you can imagine the types of activities the children will be doing. Not only will they be learning, but they’ll be having a lot of fun, too!

The attraction aims to teach children and their parents ways to survive in fires, and how to prevent them, as well. House of Berong had their soft opening on Wednesday, June 26. The museum is still under construction at the moment, but the interactive facility is available to visit.

You can visit the attraction from Mondays to Sundays from 8AM to 5PM for a tour and photo-op. The full ‘Journey with Berong’ training that lasts for two hours can be done on weekends upon request/prior scheduling. You can send your letters to the city fire marshal directly at the email below. Just indicate your name, contact number, and your preferred date and time for the activity.
