Apart from the risk of contracting COVID-19, one of the worrying things about the pandemic is its toll on one’s mental health. According to the World Health Organization, “The sudden and near-constant stream of news reports about an outbreak can cause anyone to feel worried.” When you pair this with a month-long quarantine that may lead to restlessness, it’s no surprise that many of us feel anxious all day.

To help those suffering from anxiety, the De La Salle University (DLSU) has offered free counseling services for frontline health providers, caregivers, hospital staff, volunteers, COVID-19 patients, PUIs, PUMs, and members of the La Sallian community experiencing mental health issues.

According to the university, “Telepsychology for the Lasallian Community aims to respond to the mental issues that frontliners, as well as the academic community members who are experiencing severe stress, anxiety, and psychological issues brought about by the Enhanced Community Quarantine.”

The counseling includes psycho-educational materials, webinar sessions, and online counseling.

To apply for counseling, they may contact the Telepsychology for La Sallian Community Facebook page, through email at tlc.dlsu@delasalle.ph, or via mobile at 0915 200 1294.
