Cross-platform chat app, Discord, is doing its part to help its users amid rising concerns over the spread of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19).

With more and more people being encouraged to self-quarantine and either work from home or attend alternative online classes, Discord announced in a tweet that it is increasing its Go Live streaming and screen share limit from 10 to 50 people for the next few months.

Discord’s Go Live feature allows you to have a voice channel and stream something to anyone else in the voice channel who chooses to watch. Meanwhile, screen share lets you conduct video calls with groups of people in which you can toggle between showing your face on your web camera and showing what’s on your computer screen.

“We know a lot of you around the world are currently using Discord to keep in touch and perform daily tasks from keeping up with classes to working from home. We want to help make your world a little less stressful,” it said.

The increased viewer and screen share limit will be kept up “while it’s most critically needed.” Discord also requested everyone’s patience in case there will be performance issues as a result of the bigger streams.
