As of 4PM today, March 18, the Department of Health (DOH) has reported 15 new COVID-19 cases in the Philippines, bringing the total number up to 202.

In a statement, the DOH also confirmed that a three more patients have recovered: a 34-year-old Filipino male from Quezon City with travel history to Australia, a 24-year-old Filipino male from Makati with travel history to the UAE, and a 34-year-old FIlipino male from Camarines Sur, who was one of the two repatriates from the Diamond Princess Cruise Ship. The total number of recovered patients is now 7.

Three more deaths have also been reported, bringing the total amount of COVID-deaths in the country to 17. The deaths include a 58-year-old Filipino male from Lanao del Sur with travel history from Malaysia, a 65-year-old Filipino male from Pasig with travel history from London, and an 86-year-old Filipino female from San Juan with no travel history or exposure to a known COVID-19 case.

Health Secretary Francisco Duque III urged the public for their cooperation in doing their part to practice preventive measures and self-quarantine at home upon experiencing mild symptoms. “Now it is our turn to do our part in mitigating the spread of the disease,” he said. “The success of our measures to contain COVID-19 is hinged on your participation. We will get through this together.”
