Fans in the area quickly took to social media and put the cable company under fire. Many complained of accidentally coming across the channel and inadvertently being spoiled. The company was called out for blatantly flouting the laws of piracy and intellectual property.

It wasn’t long before the operators of Teatro de Dapitan, a local movie house, made a formal complaint with the authorities. Chembeelyn Alpeche-Balucan, who represents Teatro de Dapitan as their lawyer, told the Philippine News Agency that they are definitely filing a case against the cable company.

The cable company is said to have violated at least three laws in airing the highly-anticipated film: the Intellectual Property Code of the Philippines, the Anti-Camcording Act, and the Cybercrime Prevention Act. However, the management of said cable company has opted to remain silent and declined to issue a statement on the matter.
