In light of the ongoing Novel Coronavirus (Covid-19) outbreak, businesses have been taking a hard hit. From a recently released mandate to close malls and a community quarantine that keeps establishments from operating, restaurants and malls may just have to close to avoid even more losses.

While this list may not include all establishments, we rounded up 10 of them that will be temporarily closed  following the Covid-19 outbreak:

10. Mary Grace

The ultimate Tita hangout spot that’s known for their comfort food and pastries. Their cheese rolls and ensaymada make perfect gifts, while their cakes are sought after for potlucks and office parties. This cozy cafe, which is mostly located in malls, will be closing their cafe and all their kiosks indefinitely effective March 16.

For everyone's safety and well being, our cafes and kiosks shall close on March 16 until further notice as a precautionary measure against the spread exposure of COVID-19. 9. Titto’s Latin BBQ and Brew

A local restaurant that offers a playful twist to Latin American cuisine in the form of Instagrammable dishes and colorful elements. Their dishes are a mix of spices and complex flavors— a lively mix of African, European and Asian cultures. They’ve closed their San Juan and Pasig branch last March 14 following the Covid-19 outbreak.

8. Moon Rabbit

From the family of the well-loved Chinese restaurant Mann Hann comes a new modern concept: Moon Rabbit. This homey restaurant features comfort food favorites that take inspiration from home-cooked Chinese meals and classic Asian fare. Located in Ledesma street San Juan, we sadly bid goodbye for the time being as they close their branch effective March 16.

7. Hawker Chan

Touted as the “most affordable Michelin-star restaurant to date”, Hawker Chan serves Singaporean roasts like Char Siu and Soya Chicken (among others) with rice or noodles on the side for under P300 a meal. As per the mandate of Foodee Group, the company responsible for bringing it in, Hawker Chan and their other restaurants will be closed effective March 16.

6. Tuan Tuan Chinese Brasserie

A Chinese restaurant with French elements that hails from Canada, Tuan Tuan is known for its Snow Buns, Curry Noodle Soups, and modern Chinese fare. Sadly, we bid goodbye to their Tuantuan til you Drop promo as they close their mall branches indefinitely on March 16. (Not to worry, they offer delivery options in their other branches)

5. Yabu House of Katsu

Known for their deep-fried, crunchy katsu (cutlets), Yabu offers set meals with unlimited side dishes of rice, cabbage, soup and fruit to go with their selection of meats. Their popular dishes include the Tonkatsu pork cutlet, which comes in a lean or fatty option, and a ground beef and pork mixture called Menchi. After their heroic efforts to give hospitals and health workers free meals, Yabu will be hanging their heroic cape and signing off effective March 16 in the wake of the Covid-19 outbreak.

4. Manam

Known for their crunchy pork sisig and the viral Pancit Palabok Special— a tower of fried noodles that you pour molten orange sauce over— among other local favorites, Manam is a go-to for Filipino comfort food. This restaurant offers not only the classics, but also creative dishes for the adventurous palate. But effective March 17, Manam, along with other restaurants from the Moment Group will be closing all their restaurants in NCR because of Covid-19.

3. Nikkei

This Japanese restaurant serves modern fare with a Peruvian twist— from ceviche to sashimi, along with rice bowls and maki rolls. Nikkei is a fusion of Japanese techniques with Peruvian ingredients, designed with colorful elements, complex flavors and a unique take on East meets West fare. Specialty dishes include their In the wake of the ongoing Covid-19 outbreak, they made the decision to temporarily close all their branches (Legazpi, One Rockwell and Podium) effective March 15.

2. Ippudo

Heartwarming, hearty bowls of ramen paired with dumplings or fried Chicken karaage are the dishes that make up Ippudo. A Japanese restaurant straight from Japan itself, Ippudo is known for its flavorful broth, freshly-made thin noodles and a delicate array of meat and vegetables. Sadly, this ramen giant will be closing their stores temporarily effective March 16 following news of a community quarantine.

1. Tipsy Pig

A gastropub that serves a wide range of dishes that go well with drinks, Tipsy Pig has made a name for itself in the food industry. Their bestselling bar chow and plates, which are good for sharing, include their Beer Can Chicken, Crispy Pata and Tipsy Sisig, among other elevated Pinoy favorites. Sadly, this resto-bar has suspended operations effective March 16 in a move to promote social distancing during the virus.
