Bad news for international buyers: Nike will reportedly stop shipping internationally come 2020. According to a source, the sportswear giant will cease to permit its retail partners from shipping “outside of their trading territory” starting January 1, 2020.
View this post on InstagramRIP international buyers, and perhaps small independent sneaker retailers. @nike is reportedly forbidding retailers to ship Nike products outside of their designated region beginning January 1st, 2020, in a bid to tighten their grip on international distribution. This means that some of the reputable retailers of the brand will not be able to ship their products outside of their agreed trading territory. On the other hand, it also implies that international buyers will have limited access to limited edition products.
The new policy will potentially alleviate the covetousness of people to Nike’s collector’s items as with other famous big brands.
