So many exciting things are happening in Metro Manila this season with the opening of new restaurants and bars, food and music festivals, concerts, and other festive activities. But Jim Beam Highball combined all of these elements at their pop-up event in BGC last April 24th to 28th at the Globe Ampitheatre in Bonifacio High Street. Each night was filled with lights, booze, food, games, freebies, and live music.

The main attractions of the event were definitely the immersive 360 bar and the draft machines that give the highballs their intense fizz. Guests had the chance to try Jim Beam Highball’s expertly mixed and refreshing drinks with six unique flavors to choose from, such as the Yuzu Lychee, one of their most popular flavors which has a distinct citrusy zest.
Of course, they added a Filipino twist as well with their Calamansi Highball mixed with Nata de Coco. Other flavors include Pink Grapefruit, Peach, Watermelon and, of course, the Classic Highball. All six are great for quenching your thirst on a humid summer night after spending the day in the scorching heat. Just make sure you only stir the highball once to keep it from losing its fizz!
Stunningly colorful light installations surrounded the venue, which made for perfect photo backgrounds! A night out isn’t complete without taking FOMO-inducing photos to commemorate it (and to post on your Instagram feed).
Jim Beam also prepared fun activities for the guests, one of them being a DIY Highball Booth! A select few made their very own Classic Highballs step-by-step and got to take home a Jim Beam Highball mug as a reward.
The instructions are quite simple, actually, even if you’re not a mixologist. Just squeeze lemon juice into a glass, fill it up with loads of ice, pour some Jim Beam Bourbon, and top it off with soda. Then, stir it once, gently lift, and ta-da! Follow these steps and you can enjoy a refreshing highball anytime you want.
To liven things up even further, Jim Beam had everyone participate in carnival games for free drinks! The crowd enjoyed playing Drink Hole, Refreshment Pong, and Tic-Tac-Toe.
Later on, popular indie band Autotelic arrived and rocked the stage with their hit songs; a perfect way to cap off an awesome night. Jim Beam sure knows how to throw a great party!
