Four years ago, ten student leaders from Makati met in one of many leadership seminars they attended. From it, an idea was realized; the idea that someday, they will be the next servants of the country. Little did this band of student leaders know that their realization was actually a calling–a collective calling that emerged from their individual Cores.

Core Philippines is a youth-oriented, not-for-profit organization accredited by the Philippine government, through the National Youth Commission. It was established in 2015 by ten student leaders from Makati, the majority of whom are products of public school. Its vision is to produce an empowered generation of young Filipinos through organizing leadership seminars, conferences, and team buildings for free.

One of the main driving forces of the organization is to share the diverse talents of its members acquired from various trainings and learning they received during their elementary, high school, and college days. As youth leadership becomes more recognized and relevant at the present time, Core PH wanted to champion the quest for this calling.

From this cause, their flagship program was born, the Core Conference.

The Core Conference 2019 Manila (CoreCon Manila) is the fourth annual conference project of Core Philippines in recognizing its advocacy and goals for the country. For this year, the team is back in Manila to accomplish yet another year of youth leadership and solidarity. Bannering a theme of “Leading the Champions,” the team is committed to deliver another community-centered activities and teachings towards the young leaders of Manila.

The conference will be held at Araullo High School Manila this coming November 30. 250 youth leaders composed of Student Government officers and Sangguniang Kabataan officials of the city are expected to participate. The event is divided into three parts: the plenary session, breakout sessions, and team building activities.

Undersecretary Epimaco V. Densing, III of the Department of the Interior and Local Government along with Chairman Ryan R. Enriquez of the National Youth Commission (NYC) will be the keynote speakers of the event.

Plenary topics include the Role of the Youth by Director Pamela Ann Padilla-Salvan of the Office of the Presidential Adviser on the Peace Process (OPAPP); Financial Literacy by eCompareMo Chief Executive Officer Stephanie Chung and; Vocational Courses and Alternatives to College by Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) Region IV Director Vincent Aljohn Cifra.

Six other speakers will be talking at their respective Breakout sessions.
