Aspiring game developer? Software Engineer? Startup CEO? Or maybe just looking for the right thing for you?

This coming September, UP CURSOR presents the Computer Science Summit 4.0 (CSS), an avenue for young minds to collaborate, develop skills, and build new connections in the field of Computer Science. Prepare for a jam-packed two-day event filled with speakers and workshops hosted by over 15 companies, both startup and corporate, from all over the industry.

CSS4.0 POSTER WIM 640x845 - Brainstorm Programming Ideas at UP CURSOR’s Computer Science Summit

The much-awaited annual event will take place September 14-15, 2019 (Saturday – Sunday) at The University of the Philippines Diliman, Institute of Civil Engineering (UPD – ICE).

CSS 4.0 is a two-day tech event, ideathon, and pitching competition targeted, but not limited to Computer Science and Information Technology (CS/IT) college students. UP CURSOR aims to have this event serve as the pioneer avenue for students to learn, engage in healthy discourse, and build new connections within the tech community, both with tech professionals and fellow students.

From seasoned developers to students just starting to learn how to code, this event has something for everyone interested in the Computer Science field. The first day will focus on imparting knowledge, letting participants choose among several technical skills and soft skills workshops. The tech skills include Game Development, Machine Learning, Computer Security, Virtual Reality (VR), and Block-chain Technology among others, while the soft skills cover topics such as Problem Formulation and Solving, Web Deployment, UX, and Agile. Attendees will also be able to get up close and personal with the representatives from different companies through the mixer and mentorship portions.

All second day attendees will get the chance to apply what they learned on the first day. This will be through the Ideathon, an avenue for participants to form teams, bond, brainstorm, and battle it out with other teams in an idea pitching competition. Contestants should be sure to use their knowledge from both the soft skills and technical workshops, as there is over Php 10,000, along with other exclusive prizes from our sponsors, waiting for the winners!

The theme of CSS this year is Computer Science for the development of a better nation. With this, UP CURSOR has partnered with active Computer Science communities and organizations from universities all over the metro, including Ateneo De Manila (ADMU), De La Salle University (DLSU), University of Santo Tomas (UST), Far Eastern University (FEU) and more.

Sign up as a first-day attendee for Php 400 or a two-day attendee for Php 550, inclusive of lunch, event lanyard, and t-shirt. Better yet, invite your friends and register in a group of five to avail of a ten percent discount (Php 495/person)!

CSS is the flagship event of the University of the Philippines Association of Computer Science Majors (UP CURSOR), one of the top engineering organizations in UP Diliman. Since its creation in 1983, UP CURSOR has been dedicated to the unrelenting pursuit of excellence and promotion of computer science throughout the country. This fourth installment of our event promises to expand its participants’ networks even further, with all-new partners, topics, and participating companies.
